The Sensibility of the Detransitioner Video

According to the new gender orthodoxy, this person does not exist. However, her depression, her doubts, and her deadname are all inconvenient realities of transition.

For unlike the transition video, the detransitioner is finally making sense. The search for a ‘true self’ proved fruitless, as it eventually does for all of us.

“My self is not a guy,” says ‘Max,’ an 18 year-old female YouTuber who has been identifying as a boy. “My self is a girl.”

With the help of online affirmation, Max deceived herself into playing Peter Pan. Yet the costume never wore well.

“I felt like I was wearing a mask, trying to cover up who I was.” Max says. The pain of honest speech is palpable. It hurts to admit being wrong, to acknowledge being fooled. Empathy? There is none in the ‘trans community,’ not for detransitioners.

“I know I’m gonna get hate for this from the LGBT community,” Max says. Critics of detransition maintain that it is rare, that rates of regret are incredibly low, but Max is a perfect example of how the genderists are able to falsify statistics as low as one percent.

Max has erased most of her content. In the only other video left on her profile, she explains that she has moved on. No one is recording her detransition for official statistical research. She is not interested in fighting battles over all this, she just wants to get on with her life.

Who can blame her?
