JK Rowling Opens Fire On Detransition Denial

Queen Joanne has officially run out of fu*ks To give

Author JK Rowling has largely ignored her critics for weeks now, but today she saw someone misrepresenting the views of a transgender friend(!) in their obsessive tweets, and decided it was quite enough of that nonsense:

You should go read the whole thread, though it will have no surprises for anyone who has followed the detransition issue for a long minute. The amazing thing is that even after Graham Linehan was unpersoned by Twitter for his gender wrongthink, the world’s best-selling fantasy fiction writer is practically daring the social media platform to go ahead and silence her. The challenge is implied, but ever-present:

Go ahead and show us all what you are made of, Jack Dorsey. Go on. I dare you.

Lies and fabrications are not unusual in trans rights activism, with some of the deepest madness coming from the social media “activists” who are not themselves trans. Susie Green of Mermaids, for instance, has clearly steered her child down a medical transition path in a twisted act of self-sanctification, a classic case of what used to be called Munchausen syndrome by proxy. ACLU lawyer Chase Strangio gaslights the annihilation of Title IX sports for women and girls by deliberately ignoring the sex-based language in the legislation. The entire movement is using bad science to promote a “trans suicide” myth that actually harms the kids it is supposed to help. And so on.

The point is that whenever Queen Jo tweets like this, repected voices on the liberal-left-progressive side of the Twittersphere react with vitriol, and I find myself following her example. There was a time in my career when I would have trembled to say this to a high-profile account in that space, but now my give-a-dam is completely burst. Courage is contagious.

About the author

Former progressive activist declared heretic by his former movement for refusing to believe that "woman" is a costume or a feeling and recognizing male pattern behavior as male even when it wears lipstick and high heels. Just because you hate something I say does not make it hate speech.
