A major victory in the UK
A stopped clock, etc.
The British government is set to give up on proposed changes to the 2010 Gender Recognition Act that would have made it possible for men to identify as women by law without having to change their lives at all.
Under the proposed “reforms,” men could have obtained a gender recognition certificate with the stroke of a pen just by declaring themselves female.
Boris Johnson’s government will still move ahead with a ban on conversion therapy for gays and lesbians.
The government’s decision follows intensive citizen efforts to call attention to the erosion of sex-based protections for women and girls that such “reform” would create.
Opposition to these GRA changes was the original galvanizing focus of the rising gender critical wave in the United Kingdom. Newly visible with the controversy over JK Rowling, this storm has been gathering for years.
Groups like Fair Play for Women worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the changes and lobby Parliament against making them.
Those feminists and activists were celebrating yesterday after the Sunday Times previewed their front page headline about the decision at Downing Street.

Predictably, the woke crowd has expressed anguish and anger.
Along with a flurry of falsehoods and accusations, now the gender lobby is trying to pretend that the proposed changes enjoyed popular support just because a majority of all the comments that the government received about it were supportive.
This is like declaring a prisoner innocent because he gets a lot of fan mail.
Three years ago, trans lobby organizers had a head start, an inside track on the policy process, an army of volunteers, and a government that questioned nothing while ignoring feminists completely.
That these advantages have entirely slipped away shows just how quickly public opinion has shifted in Britain.
Transgender prisoner “Karen White” was housed in a female estate and immediately assaulted female inmates.
Troubling news stories out of Tavistock, the nation’s pediatric gender clinic, were compounded by news coverage of detransitioners harmed by the false promise of gender reassignment.
Polls show that LGBT acceptance has declined in Britain, a trend that tracks precisely with the peak of the trans lobby’s power over Stonewall UK and in Westminster.
Recent elections history suggests that loudly supporting transgender rights over and above the rights of women and girls is a losing proposition with British voters.
The GRA reforms would have occurred if transactivists, instead of pissing over women, had made alliances with them & had discussed the problems for all groups with male pattern violence.
But no, their misogyny was too strong, & they perpetuated the violence.
It has cost them.
